Linda Carty
The Crime
Linda Anita Carty is on Texas Death Row because she enlisted three others to help her break into the home of her 25 year old pregnant neighbor's home, after she had the baby, murder her and steal the infant to raise as her own.

Ms. Carty is British, she is a former Kittitian-American primary school teacher. She immigrated to the United States in 1982. She is now an American Citizen. Ms. Carty was back and forth on the side of the law for most of her adult life. Her birth name was actually Cute Anita Carty. She was married to Joseph Crown. She has spent the last 20 + years on Texas Death Row.
Linda Carty would soon marry Joseph Crown. In May 2001 Joseph left Linda. She lies to try and get him back over and over. One of those lies was that she was pregnant. Well then she began having to lie to other people about being pregnant. She never gained weight or looked like she was though. On the day before the murder, May 15, 2001, Ms. Carty told a neighbor, Florence Meyers that she was pregnant, and the baby was to be born the next day. Ms. Meyers testified at the time she had no idea Ms. Carty was even pregnant. She appeared to look the same as she always had and especially not 9 months pregnant.
In early May 2001, Joseph, Linda's husband left her. She tried to get him to stay by saying she was pregnant, and was going to deliver their son the next day. Then on May 16, 2001 Joseph showed up at the local jail because Linda had been arrested on the drug charge. He asked her if she had the baby but she just told him " not yet". Clearly Ms. Carty had to be growing anxious wondering how she would produce her husband,that she so dearly wanted back, a baby. Now on May 15th, just one day prior, Ms. Carty saw another lady that she knew, and that had thought she was pregnant the whole time, Sherry Bancroft. Ms. Bancroft asked Ms. Carty if she was still pregnant or if she already had her baby? Ms. Carty informed her that she had already had the baby, a boy, and he was resting at home with his daddy.
Killing And Kidnapping
On May 16, 2001, Joanna Rodriguez was at her home with her 4 day old son, Ray, just trying to get some rest since giving birth. Three men broke down her door and kidnapped her and her infant son. You can only imagine how terrified Ms. Rodriguez was for her infant son and herself. Gerald Anderson, Carlos and Chris Robinson were hired by Linda Anita Carty to kidnap and murder Ms. Rodriguez and take her infant son. They forced and then imprisoned Ms. Rodriguez into the trunk of their car, taping her lips shut because she continued to scream for help. Also, they tied her up after handcuffing her. They covered her face with plastic bags. Her cause of death was determined to be suffocation. The car used to abduct Joanna and her son, Ray, in and then later murdering Joanna in, belonged to her neighbor Linda Anita Carty. The three men that abducted the mother and son were arrested, and said Ms. Carty recruited them to pull off the abduction and murder. Joanna Rodriguez's deceased body was found in that same car of Linda Carty's that she had been abducted in. The infant son of Ms. Rodriguez, Ray, was found safe and in another car belonging to Linda Anita Carty. Ms. Carty had recently miscarried, and wanted to remain married to Joseph. She thought only a baby would save her marriage that's why she continued telling everyone, including Joseph, that she was pregnant and about to deliver. Joanna Rodriguez's baby came right on time.
The Arrest Of Linda Carty
Before this arrest, Linda Anita Carty was not a saint, even while working as an informant for the FBI. In 1992 when Ms. Carty was arrested for auto theft and impersonating an FBI agent, instead of being sent to prison, she was giving 10 years probation with the agreement she would become a drug informant. She did provide the needed information to help with two large drug arrests. She actually lost those terms after being caught and charged herself with drugs.
Fast forward to when Ms. Rodriguez was murdered and baby Ray kidnapped, the three men who actually performed the murder and abduction did admit Linda Carty hired them, baby Ray was later found safe with Linda in her car. She was arrested, but her defense was that these three men set her up because they knew she once was an informant for the FBI.
Linda Carty was convicted in February 2002 of the abduction and murder, and also solicitation to murder and is currently on Texas Death Row. She has appealed her conviction, the latest was denied in November 2018 by The United States Supreme Court.
We do see this in our country and in our world today more often now than ever. Women who cannot have children of their own hunting, stalking, and killing mothers to take their babies. In some cases I've researched, the mothers haven't even given birth yet, but women in such horrible desperation have been known to sedate or kill the mother and cut her baby out.

UPDATE !!!!
I did wonder why these three men just commit this murder and abduction for Ms. Carty. Then I found out she had told them, her husband was the father of Ms. Rodriguez's infant son and it's not fair she miscarried. This is suppose to be her baby. She did say they were only given orders to abduct the baby, not to kill Ms. Rodriguez.
